Coder Foundry Graduate Spotlight: Chris Mohan

We're on the heels of yet another Coder Foundry Master Class graduation, and it comes as no surprise to us that we've already got a coding boot camp success story to share!

Chris Mohan hails from the Nation’s Capitol and has a career history that includes years of .Net development at the corporate level. With a background like that, we decided to sit down with him at our headquarters in Kernersville, NC to discuss the past, his Coder Foundry experience, and what interesting challenges his experience helped lead him toward for the future.

Chris’s former position was in the legal industry. After a number of years with the company, he began to feel that his job was moving further away from custom .NET development than he preferred and he decided to seek out coding boot camps to help him move on to the next chapter of his professional career. Though he did not have any ties to North Carolina, he saw the value in the Master Class offered by Coder Foundry and headed to Kernersville for an intensive hands-on coding experience.

“The professors Andrew and Thomas complemented each other well and were very knowledgeable in their areas of expertise." Chris noted that he learned a lot during his time in boot camp and was glad to have had such a unique experience to refresh and build upon his already well-honed skill set.

Beyond the "academic" portion of boot camp, Chris says he was very pleased with the all the help he was given with his job hunt. With some help from the folks in the Coder Foundry career placement office, Chris is headed off to a promising new career with a top-of-the-industry manufacturer.

Beyond the great job with a stellar company, Chris is also excited about launching the next part of his career. We're excited for Chris' rewarding new career path and wish him all the best going forward!

As 2014 draws to a close and we begin to think about all of the opportunities that 2015 will bring, we would like to express our heartfelt thanks and gratitude for everyone that has been involved with Coder Foundry thus far and helped make our first year such a successful one. We are so very happy to have helped so many students jump-start their coding careers (and to have helped seasoned students like Chris start the next chapter of their professional lives) and are looking forward to working with our next class of students beginning on January 5th!

From all of us here at Coder Foundry -- happy New Year! Here's to widespread success in 2015!
